This year we ran our fourth annual Trinity Kids & Youth Ministry Training Day, and it was spectacular. With over 130 registrations, we knew it was going to be a big one. Whereas last year’s event was on our Trinity Church Adelaide site, we outgrew it and this year made our way to Temple Christian College. This was truly a blessing, as the cold and the rain came in power, yet we were in warm settings, with full shelter to all the seminars and teaching all day. What a blessing!
We began with a short devotion to kick off our day. This was led by the Ministry Support Leader from Youth Works College, Andy Stevenson. He encouraged everyone that we have one of the greatest privileges, doing ‘the best role in the church’, by discipling kids and youth so that they may know Jesus more! He encouraged everyone to do this, even whilst it’s hard, sharing from 2 Corinthians 4.
After this we split into various groups, with people choosing between 15 different seminars, spread across two sessions. Some focused on kids’ ministry, youth ministry, working with people with a disability, and even helping kids think about global mission, thanks to Tamie Davis from CMS.
During the afternoon we spent time reflecting – as we sought to land what we had learned – in groups and teams from each church. We finished our day with streamed ‘Ask Me Anything’ times – one for kids’ ministry, another for youth ministry, and one more for those working with disability.
The feedback from the day has been delightfully positive, with many attendees wanting to see more and more people at future events. We will continue to run this amazing training day, likely in early August 2026. Maybe next year we could see you there too! Our team is hoping to add a parenting stream, as we are all aware we do ministry in partnership with families.
We praise God for a wonderful day, and for the generosity of our sponsors, which made the price of the day very achievable for every single person!
